The program

Club Tub puts community ahead of discounts

The Club Tub loyalty program was built to reward Tubby Todd's community and power faster growth by bringing these existing customers back for repeat purchases.

Members earn 'bubbles' for purchases and engagement, like following on social media and giving birthday info to unlock an annual reward. It also rewards referrals — a smart way to influence the recommendations parents of young kids often make.

Three VIP Tiers — Friend, Bestie, and BFF — contain additional perks like free shipping and first access to limited-edition products; members climb the tiers by spending more.

Parents are the best influencers you can have. That's why we didn't want our program to just be about discounting.

We wanted a genuine relationship that engages them, gets their feedback, and brings them back to us.

The problem

Selling on Amazon and Target meant losing visibility

With a target audience of busy moms, Tubby Todd knows that shoppers purchase their products wherever is most convenient — including through Amazon and Target.

While it's easy to communicate with DTC shoppers, those purchasing through third parties were uncontactable and anonymous, making it hard to build an accurate picture of customer lifetime value.

How it works

How Receipt Upload brings retail purchases into Club Tub

Tubby Todd adopted LoyaltyLion's Receipt Upload feature, bringing anonymous retail buyers into their ecosystem.

Now, a customer who has bought Tubby Todd through a third party can photograph their receipt and upload it to earn bubbles. Each shopper has their own personalized upload page.

Set-up was simple, and Tubby Todd maintains it without needing LoyaltyLion support. With rules in place, only eligible receipts are approved, giving Kirsten peace of mind and keeping manual review of receipts to a minimum.

What changed

Receipt Upload powers loyalty program enrollment…

Receipt Upload supports Club Tub membership growth by giving retail shoppers another reason to join: the opportunity to earn rewards and enjoy brand benefits wherever they shop.

17% of Receipt Uploaders are new members, showing that the feature is reaching both new and existing program participants.

The stats show that Receipt Upload is easy to use: 30% have uploaded a second receipt, and 34% have gone on to make another purchase, just weeks after it was launched.

…and increases Tubby Todd's average basket size

Receipt Upload has helped Tubby Todd better understand its retail shoppers, revealing a group of highly engaged, high-value customers.

Receipt uploaders have twice the AOV of non-members and a 30% higher AOV than shoppers who only use the program online.

Rodriguez credits discovery: only their baby products are stocked at Target, so someone who uploads a receipt to start earning points discovers the full range online and realizes it can meet their family's needs more comprehensively.

Capitalizing on Amazon and Target's own peak periods

When Amazon has Prime Day or Target has a sale, Tubby Todd recognizes this as a growth opportunity for themselves.

They contact loyalty members during these events, reminding them not to forget to come back and upload their receipt to earn points, which can be used in the future on their site.

It also takes the pressure off Tubby Todd to have promotions on their own site all the time. Now, they plan their DTC promotions with Amazon and Target's promotions in mind, too.

Most brands think in terms of channel, not customer.

With Receipt Upload, we're allowing shoppers to make a decision based on what works best for their family, whilst giving them a reason to come back to our website.
