Case study: using Okendo and LoyaltyLion to drive the creation of user-generated content

Pulse Boutique have been working with Shopify Plus experts, Swanky to create an exciting new loyalty program that would drive the creation of user-generated content and ultimately boost their sales.

Why incorporate reviews into a loyalty program?

Research shows that 91% of consumers use online reviews to guide their purchasing decisions, and 85% of those trust those reviews as much as they would trust online recommendations from their friends and family.

The upbeat women’s clothing retailer was excited to see how they could use reviews as a key component of their Pulse Perks loyalty program, encouraging customer engagement and increasing the amount of user-generated content on the website.


Incentivising reviews with Okendo and LoyaltyLion

Working with Swanky, Pulse Boutique was the first Shopify Plus store to use the integration between Okendo and LoyaltyLion, allowing customers to earn loyalty points in return for leaving online reviews of the products they have bought.

Via Okendo, members of Pulse Perks are incentivised to leave multi-layered reviews, rating various aspects of an item from its quality, to its comfort and sizing. The number of points a customer can earn for a review varies on the activities they complete – for example, uploading photos and videos of themselves wearing Pulse Boutique’s clothing can earn them even more loyalty points.


What were the results?

Using the integration between Okendo and LoyaltyLion to encourage members of Pulse Perks to leave reviews, Pulse Boutique are successfully engaging their customers, and using the content they generate to build brand trust with new shoppers.

The Pulse Perks rewards program has performed exceptionally well, with the brand experiencing a 39% uplift in returning customers. Pulse Boutique have seen a 14.9% order to review conversion rate.
