The lion’s share: Hannah Morris (Senior Partnerships Manager)

This blog series gives insight into the day-to-day life of LoyaltyLion’s loyalty experts. We will look at members from all teams – diving into their roles and responsibilities – how they started their careers and what advice they have to share.

So let’s meet Hannah Morris, Senior Partnerships Manager.

What is your morning routine?

The alarm goes off at 6:30am (ouch!) and I head to the gym for a morning workout – even though I’m reluctant to go, it always wakes me up and makes me feel more alert! If I don’t make it to the gym I try to go for a morning walk or do some stretching to start the day. I work remotely, and love the flexibility of being able to do this.

Why does what you do matter?

As an Agency Partnerships Manager, I’m responsible for supporting partners, educating them on the importance of retention in the ecommerce space, and providing them with the best loyalty solution to help their clients grow and succeed. The role is incredibly varied, and we each get to manage our own book of business and define our own strategy.

The Partnerships function as a whole offers a great revenue-driving opportunity, and leveraging these relationships helps us drive new referrals for the sales team.

How did you get the job?

I previously worked in an ecommerce agency and managed technology partners. Now I’ve done a complete swap – I now manage agency partners from the tech side.

I met a couple of the LoyaltyLion Partnerships team members at events in 2019, and decided if a role ever came up, I’d apply for it.

What does a typical day look like?

No two days are the same in Partnerships, and that’s what I like about it. There are a couple of constants, like our weekly stand-ups and 1-2-1s, but the rest of the week is a real mix. My calendar is often very busy with agency partner calls, strategy sessions and events. As I manage partners on a global basis, I need to maintain flexibility in my work day. That being said, I always make an effort to leave my desk and get some fresh air at lunch time.

How do you spend your evening?

If I’m down in London, I’ll usually be having some drinks with the rest of the team or attending a partner event. If I’m back home in Birmingham, I’m either meeting friends for dinner/socialising, or as the summer weather has disappeared, I’m getting cosy and bingeing on a series. My latest addiction is Below Deck.

What’s your proudest achievement at LoyaltyLion?

After a year in the role, I was promoted to Senior Partnerships Manager, and am now working on my own management training with my first direct report, which is really exciting! I love how this role has evolved and allowed me to progress.

Tell us your favourite thing about LoyaltyLion?

The best thing about LoyaltyLion for me is definitely the people. Spending every day with an inspiring, like minded team that also loves to have fun makes working so much more enjoyable.

My favourite LoyaltyLion value is team before ego. It’s refreshing to work in an environment where people are proactive and constantly thinking of the success of the team.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining the company?

Be ready to be a sponge… There is a lot to learn and absorb, but so many people to help you along the way. No question is a silly question, so ask away!
