Senior Software Engineer

London

LoyaltyLion is a data-driven loyalty and engagement platform trusted by thousands of ecommerce brands worldwide. Merchants use LoyaltyLion when they want a fully customised loyalty program that is proven to increase customer engagement, retention and spend. Stores using LoyaltyLion typically generate at least $15 for every $1 they spend on the platform.

Today LoyaltyLion works with over 4,000 fast-growth ecommerce retailers. Our mission is to help them succeed in the age of Amazon, where they may not be able to compete on price and logistics but can offer a better customer experience. One that makes customers feel valued, rather than like they are just another number.

Role information

We’re looking for a senior or lead developer to work on interesting problems and shape the future of LoyaltyLion. You’ll be working across our entire platform, from our merchant-facing web apps to our speedy third-party widgets and mentoring other members of the development team.

We’re a small, agile team with a strong focus on the product – everything we build has a purpose and provides value. When it comes to development, clean and safe is our number priority. All our services are backed by strong test suites, and we strive to make our deployment process as deterministic as possible (we use Docker, ECS and Terraform).

Our day-to-day languages are Ruby, JavaScript and TypeScript – as a senior developer you’ll need a significant and demonstrable knowledge of at least one of these.

Some of the things you'll be doing:

  • Writing clean, robust, well-tested code
  • Developing our various apps and integrating with ecommerce platforms
  • Working on technical integrations with our partners such as Bronto and Dotmailer
  • Scaling our apps to work with the largest ecommerce stores
  • Turning lots of data into useful insights for our merchants
  • Helping us dream up and implement awesome new features

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record in software development
  • Experience as a senior or lead engineer in a team
  • Autonomous and pragmatic: you know when to refactor and when to accrue debt
  • Significant expertise with Ruby, JavaScript or both
  • Desire to work in a small, close-knit and structured team
  • Other nice to haves: Postgres, AWS, Docker, own a dog/cat/lion

What we offer:

  • Relaxed working environment and flexible hours
  • A space at our bright, spacious office in Farringdon
  • Plenty of opportunities for tomfoolery (table football, VR headsets, Mario Kart tournaments)
  • Lots of food related perks: lunches, drinks, cupcakes

Salary: £70,000 per annum + options
