Product Designer

Role information

This position reports to the Product Director, where you’ll be joining another Senior Product Designer on the team. You will be joining at a key moment as we scale so will have the opportunity to help shape our future.

You’ll join a cross functional team consisting of engineering and design professionals who you will partner with to solve our customers problems. You will be responsible for understanding the problems we want to solve, for who and why, and working with your team to identify and execute the best solution approach to achieve your objectives.

You’ll play a key role in evolving the experience of new and existing LoyaltyLion applications for specific target groups and end users, and will need to understand their mindset and motivations.

Some of the things you'll be doing:

  • Conceptualise, craft and iterate on experiences for new and existing product features
  • Produce multiple concepts and prototypes, understanding when deeper exploration is warranted and when it is best to change paths and try another approach.
  • Work with your peers in design, product and engineering to turn user insights and business needs into products that drive balanced business value through a process of rapid exploration, product definition, and product validation
  • Understand and apply responsive design and best practices
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to product and engineering.
  • Work closely with engineers as they build and release.
  • Help develop and ensure design standards, guidelines and best practices are adhered to throughout the product life cycle.
  • Optimise our existing products and features by conducting user research, user interviews and workshops

What we’re looking for:

  • You have a real passion for your craft. You obsess over making easy to use and inclusive designs
  • You are a good all-rounder across the spectrum of Product / UX and Design… You may have a deep specialism in one area (weighted to either UX or UI)… as we grow we’ll hire for these specialisms, but initially we need good all round coverage. If you feel you have blind spots, don’t be shy. Get in touch and let’s talk
  • You are comfortable using Figma for design, prototyping, and interactions
  • You are constantly pushing your limits and searching for opportunities to become better
  • Must show a portfolio of quality work across mediums and be able to explain your workflow and design decisions. Please include a PDF or link to your portfolio.

Added bonus experience:

  • Experience with design systems and atomic design
  • Experience with consumer web and mobile app design, themes and customisable UI
  • Content writing knowledge
  • Web engineering background
